I’m back home from the Brussels motor show 1988 (the year of my 18th birthday and by the way the year of my driving license) with some Saab brochures and the price list, and at home I make a mark on this price list next to the 900C (the basic carburettor model, but with the new front) 2 doors sedan and I write on a paper (still in my possession) « My choice a 900C 2 doors Red with just two options, rear spoiler and alloy wheels »…..

10 years after, in 1998 I finally buy a Saab 900, I buy it by phone and the seller said it was an 900i 3 Doors. When I discover the Car it was not a i but a C and in 2 doors ! Not red but Bronze without alloy wheels, but with a rear spoiler !

I drove almost 150.000 miles with this car, 4 times in Sweden, even in Finland, and many times in the Uk (my first appearance with this car was the International in Gaydon in 1998)

Some years after I buy another 900 from a close friend, by pure coincidence it was a…900C 2 doors from 1988 ! An Odoardo grey this time.

Saab 900		 3 years ago a friend from my area say me they seen a 900 abandoned in a field very close from my home, obviously I have a look on this car and it was believe it or not …a 900C 2 doors from 1988, with a rear spoiler and the colour was RED !…My choice of almost 20 years before !

It’s still my daily use car, fitted with anniversary wheels and a wooden Nardi inside.

 

Saab 99		 If my first choice Saab is the 900, I long time wanted an older one, and by the way why not combine my wish for an old-timer and a RHD car to go to my favourite holydays country …the UK ?

It’s why I buy in may this year (2009) a 1972 « L » reg. Saab 99 in the area of Bedford. After just some attention I already go back with this Car to the UK in Norwich area, for the first time with the steering wheel at the right place!
  As a real exclusivity for Saab friends I just bought yesterday a 900 …. I16 sedan but 4 doors this time !
